The A-list provides a revolutionary new take on youth engagement. Unlike traditional teen centers, The A-list is a one-stop shop for youth services in a cafe setting. Even more important, we have dedicated ourselves to authentic youth leadership. Several aspects define this new A-list model:
Social Entrepreneurship
Teens themselves produce 30% of the revenue needed to support the organization through selling snacks at our snack bar and custom screen-printed t-shirts.
Business Community Involvement
We have strong relationships with the business community. We believe in engaging businesses as more than simply funders. Instead, we partner with businesses to help us develop their future employees and businesses leaders.
Collaboration Between Youth, College Students, and Adults
We rely on a unique combination of teen, college, and adult staff working collaboratively. Teen employees run the front-line operations and help with planning of programs and events. They provide the voice that guides our efforts. College volunteer staff members are responsible for overseeing specific programs, events, or business units. Adult staff provides experience, management, and leadership for the organization.
